EY Law Welcomes Herman and Giovanni
EY Law advocaten-avocats (EY Law) is pleased to announce that Mr. Herman De Wilde is re-joining our firm as an Executive Director in the Corporate and Commercial Law Department.
Herman has more than 20 years of experience as a corporate/commercial lawyer whereby he has also been working out of New York and Luxembourg. He is involved in large, often multinational transactions including private acquisitions, joint ventures, reorganizations, post-acquisition integrations, etc. and has extensive experience with the drafting and negotiation of complex contracts. He furthermore focuses on OME-projects and is assisting (international) nonprofit associations.
Herman is highly regarded by his clients for his business oriented approach whereby he combines an in-depth knowledge of corporate and commercial law with strategic, financial and business insights enabling him to provide hands on solutions that meet the expectations of the clients.
He holds a Master in Law from the Universiteit Gent, a Master in Economic Sciences from the FUNDP Namur and a LLM in Business Law from the Unversiteit Antwerpen.
Herman is a lecturer Corporate Law at the University of Leuven/Odisee and is a regular speaker at seminars. He is the author of various articles and is editor-in-chief with Kluwer.
EY Law advocaten-avocats (EY Law) also welcomes Mr. Giovanni Verkooren. He has joined our M&A/transaction law department as a M&A Manager.
Prior to joining EY Law, Giovanni worked at the M&A department of a leading Belgian law firm. He has over 5 years of experience and advised a diverse group of clients ranging from multinational corporations to international trade associations, international law firms and Belgian SMEs. In particular, Giovanni focuses on private M&A, private equity and venture capital placements, joint ventures, finance and securities matters, and real estate transactions.
Further, he also has experience as a legal counsel as he was seconded at a renowned renewable energy company for over one year. Giovanni holds a Master in Law from the University of Ghent and a Postgraduate in Corporate Law from the Bruges Business School.
