The FAIB (i.e. the Federation of European and International Associations established in Belgium) which represents international associations from all walks of life will host a hybrid seminar on September 23, 2021 dedicated to Competition law. This event will be held on September 23, 2021 between 12.00 p.m. and 14.30 in person at the Brussels International Associations Center. Margarita Peristeraki – EY Law Competition Law Leader – and Antoine Druetz – EY Law Non-Profit & Trade Associations Leader – will be the guest speakers of this seminar.

In troubled times more than ever, (international) non-profit organisations (hereafter: “NPOs”) fulfil a pivotal role for their members. While fulfilling this role, competition law enforcement shall remain rigorous and be kept as a priority by the NPOs. Indeed, competition law infringements may result in hefty fines, but they will very likely also entail reputational damage, serious disruption of operations and uncertainty for both the NPO and its members.

Due to the increasing challenges and the complexity of regulatory environment faced by most industries, competition law compliance is perceived as difficult by many (international) non-profit organisations (hereafter: “NPOs”). EY Law has designed this seminar to assist NPOs to overcome this difficulty by first providing them with essential groundwork for the understanding of competition law. Subsequently, the speakers will assess relevant competition law issues NPOs may often encounter and propose practical solutions to help NPOs and their members navigate towards competition law compliance. This seminar will offer a unique pragmatic approach and be tailored for the non-profit sector.
