EY Law welcomes a new EU Competition Law team
Kiran was a partner at Mayer Brown and co-founder of its Brussels office. He served as Partner in Charge for many years, was a leader of its India Practice, and was a member of several client teams and firm committees.
Work experience
Kiran has practised competition law for over 25 years representing companies in cartel investigations, dominance cases, sector inquiries, M&A and joint ventures, and appeals of European Commission decisions to the European Court of Justice. He has advised corporations in numerous industries, including automotive, chemical, entertainment, life sciences, logistics and telecommunications. He has been engaged by clients on leading issues such as the interaction between the digital and ‘bricks and mortar’ economy, FRAND disputes, and the emerging regulatory environment for autonomous vehicles.

The team
Kiran is joined by Margarita Peristeraki and Manu Mohan. Margarita, joining as a Director, was previously a counsel in the Antitrust & Competition practice of Mayer Brown’s Brussels office. With over 15 years of experience, her work involves all aspects of competition law and includes complex merger transactions as well as cartel investigations. Having been a Réferendaire at the Court of Justice of the EU in Luxembourg, she has also market recognised strength in EU Court matters.
Manu, joining as a Senior Manager, was previously an associate in the Antitrust & Competition practice of Mayer Brown’s Brussels office.
With over ten years of experience,his work involves all aspects of competition law. He has a particular strength in multi-jurisdictional merger control and is well known to many major Indian corporations.
Kiran, Margarita and Manu joined in May 2017.
